Registered Oldenburg Gelding – 18 Years Old
Cui Bono (“Junior”)
Cui Bono, affectionately known as “Junior,” is an 18-year-old registered Oldenburg gelding sired by Camiros and out of Showboat. He stands at 16 hh and presents the classic Oldenburg type: refined, athletic, and expressive with eye-catching movement and presence.
Junior has been brought along with a strong dressage foundation and has accumulated miles in the hunter/jumper show ring. His flatwork base supports his balance and responsiveness, and he has experience both in and out of the show environment. English has been his primary discipline, though he has also gone western and bareback.
Junior is not bombproof and is best suited for an active, experienced rider who can keep him mentally and physically engaged. He can be high-headed and reactive at times, but he also has a soft eye and is highly sociable with people. He thrives when he has a job and consistent direction. Trained by a teenager, he would make a fun and rewarding project for another confident young rider looking to continue developing a talented horse.
On the physical side, Junior has been sound with no history of major physical issues. He is currently maintained on monthly Adequan injections to support joint health and keep him feeling his best. He is currently shod and stands well for the farrier. He stands in cross-ties (with supervision) and, while he does not load easily, once on the trailer he travels without issue.
Junior represents a wonderful opportunity for someone searching for a quality warmblood project horse with training, personality, and presence.
